But like everything the devil is in the detail. Do you know your internal beading from you external beading when it comes to replacement windows. Unfortunately the majority of homeowners buy double glazing on price without thinking that something somewhere has to be sacrificed. It is true you only get what you pay for. But with a little help from local conservatory you may just learn that bit extra to help you in your purchase decision.

Sliding Sash Windows

Sliding Sash Window

These are the Rolls Royce of the replacement window industry. Modern technology meets craftsmanship means you get an up to date solution to replace those tatty old frames but you can still hold on to the nostalgia and design of your property.

These windows function the same as standard box sash windows but in addtion tilt back into the room for you to clean them easily and safely. Counter balanced like in days gone by these window are easy to open and close and with the modern materials and runners today jamming and slipping is a thing of the past. Ask your supplier to show you the fittings and hardware for these frames as good quality ones can make all the difference.

Tilt and Turn Windows

Tilt and Turn Windows

Tilt and turn windows tend to be used where it is not convenient to open the window out on to a walkway or where the opening is limited. The Tilt window operates by a single lever that controls both the tilt and the turn. The turn property (i.e. swing in) function of the window allows easy cleaning of the outside as it can easily be accessed from inside.

The tilt function gives excellent indirect ventilation that is directed upwards. In addition ,due to the complex mechanism of the gearing to make this window function, additional security is present due to exceptional build quality of the hardware and gearing.
